Inside the Koran (2008)

IMDB rating: 6.20

Plot: Filmmaker Antony Thomas explores the Muslim faith and its holy book, the Koran, in this thoughtful documentary. Talking one-on-one with practitioners of every walk of life, Thomas examines how more than a billion Muslims living in the world today relate to the holy text of their religion.

The secret behind the number 11?
I got an email saying the below, and i was ABSOLUTELY stunned. I so wish the person who wrote davinci code and Angels & demons would write a book about this. Even though it doesnt relate to Catholic religion more Islamic. Anyway this is so cool, especially the last part, but DON’T SKIP!

The Secret behind the number 11 - Pretty Chilling
Read to the bottom. Try it out. I did and I got goose bumps
If you are a sceptical person - still read on as it’s actually very interesting!!

This is actually really freaky!! (Mainly the end part, but read it first)
1) New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb has 11 letters. (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993)
4) George W Bush has 11 letters.

This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets interesting:
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 =11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911.
9 + 1 + 1 = 11

Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make
up your own mind:
1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254.
2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year.
Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognized symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Koran, the Islamic holy book:

"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The
wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah while some
of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the
Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."

That verse is number 9.11 of the Koran.
Unconvinced about all of this Still ..?!

Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on end:

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS 1
What do you think now?!!

Would you like the real kicker? Well, go here:

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist
Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist (2008)

IMDB rating: 6.90

Plot: It’s been three weeks, two days, and 23 hours since Tris broke up with Nick. And now here she is at his gig, with a new guy. How could she have moved on so fast? This begins the night of Nick, Norah and Manhattan. The night of stripping nuns, hotel ice rooms, Russian food, psychotic ex-boyfriends and lovingly trashy ex-girlfriends. It’s the night of Julio and Salvatore. The night of holding hands and writing songs and singing in the rain. It’s a night they’ll never forget.

Directors: Sollett Peter

Actors: Cera Michael,Yoo Aaron,Gavron Rafi,Wright Jonathan B.,Booth Zachary,Baruchel Jay,Rice Justin,Rudder Christian,Angelini Giorgio,Symington Cully,Haines Jeremy,Comedy,Drama,Music,Romance,

Is Nick and Norah's infinite Playlist worth seeing?
I’m wanting to see Youth in Revolt , and Nick and Norah’s infinite Playlist has him in it. Is the movie good?

Yeah, I really liked it, it’s a cute film. And Michael Cera is kind of a celebrity crush for me. Kat Denning and he had excellent chemistry for the film. Definitely recommend it if you liked Juno.

quenofnothing11 | Jan 03, 2010

It’s pretty much like every movie with Michael Cera in it. So if you like Juno…Year 1 etc. then you will like this one too
Benny | Jan 03, 2010

It depends. If you want to laugh, yes. If you want something really groundbreaking and "good", it’s not exactly new cinema or Oscar worthy.

My pet peeve is that Michael Cera (the guy from this movie, Youth in Revolt and Juno) is ALWAYS the same guy. I’d like to see him branch out.

A lot of people say Kat Dennings was trying too much to be like Juno but really, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist was a book BEFORE Juno and just because she’s a dark-haired chick with sarcasm doesn’t mean it’s copying her.

I’m a film student so I have to say this again.
It’s not a "great" movie, like it should win awards anything but it is very very funny and has a great flow to it. There’s a journey and a chase and so it keeps you moving.
It’s also a new kind of humor to the typical teenage-comedy stuff. It was honestly really funny the whole time and I could kind of see Michael Cera breaking out of his typical character but if you want to see Michael Cera, it’s still very Michael Cera.

Good (2008)

IMDB rating: 6.80

Plot: John Halder is a ‘good’ and decent individual with family problems: a neurotic wife, two demanding children and a mother suffering from senile dementia. A literary professor, Halder explores his personal circumstances in a novel advocating compassionate euthanasia. When the book is unexpectedly enlisted by powerful political figures in support of government propaganda, Halder finds his career rising in an optimistic current of nationalism and prosperity. Seemingly inconsequential decisions lead to choices, which lead to more choices… with eventually devastating effect.

I would like advice from anyone who has moved to another state…..?
I moved to Maine 4 years ago from my hometown in Rhode Island. At the time I could not afford to live in RI and provide the same lifestyle to my children so I moved to Maine where I could. I have a beautiful home here in Maine and can afford everything. I have not been happy one day about this decision since I moved here. Im completely unhappy and homesick. I want to move home more than anything. But I made this decisioin with my head and not my heart. I would have alot less back home and would be giving up finiancial security to do this. I do not want to make a mistake. I go back in forth daily in my head…what if this, what if that, is this the wrong choice, will i regret it, on and on and on. My friends and family pull me in differernt directions. Some friends think id be a fool to give up a "good" thing here and would just go home to struggle. They could be right and that keeps me here…very unhappy and not living a life that makes me happy. So security or happiness? Help!

ps…im a single mom with 3 children, my 2 older children are okay with moving back home and my younger one is only 3. Also could get my old job back at home. Thanks

The Sims 2 University?
I have Sims 2 Open For Business, Apartment Life, Free Time, Bon Voyage, Pets, and Seasons. I am thinking about getting Sims 2 University. Is this game fun? What sort of things can you unlock? Would you recommend getting it? I don’t want to get Sims 3 because I have so many of the Sims 2 I don’t want to spend the money on Sims 3.
Also, I don’t have any stuff packs. Are they useful? If so, which ones should I get? And what do they come with?

Thanks!

University is okay.. it just adds another age group (young adults) and they go to college to earn degrees and stuff, it unlocks different jobs.
The stuff packs add more items and clothes. I have celebration stuff which adds party stuff for your sims, ikea home stuff which adds more different furniture, and teen style stuff which adds more clothes, and furniture for your teens. there is A LOT of stuff packs though.
If you want university, you should get university life collection which has the stuff packs ikea home stuff, and teen style stuff.

Many artists use food grade glycerin from the pharmacy. It coats your throat. Also breathing in steam with a towel draped over your head to soften the membrains and follow with glycerin and diluted honey, like in tepid tea. Running and swimming help with air. There are many tricks you can use. Try them all.

Has the US mutated into a socialist welfare state?
Has the US mutated? I can understand how attempts could be made by congress because anything can get in there by what ever a district elects to represent them… Good examples of this would be Dianne Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd and much more. However, the greatest travesty is placed squarely upon the judicial system. The judicial system has swung far to the left, they legislate from the bench instead of what they are SUPPOSED to do, which is interpret the constitution. So far the nation is still hanging together, it is unknown just how long though. It may just break apart. A prediction by a KGB agent, Igor Panarin, may be of interest to read.
Here is a good example of the Supreme Court upholding socialism. They ruled that Socialist Security was constitutional.

"Always wondering" is a classic example of a socialist liberal extremest. Rants like these are absolute proof that this nation is in perilous times.

They even spent money that belongs to people who haven’t been born yet.
There’s no end in sight. They’re still spending and, so far, we’ve got nothing for it.
JimSock | Nov 18, 2009

The US has long been a mixture of socialistic and capitalistic programs and policies, as have the rest of the industrialized nations of the world and for the most part it’s worked pretty well. What is more concerning about the US it that that mutation that you’ve noticed is more into a corporate conglomerate state where corporations have began to have more power and influence than the people or even the government itself.
ndmagicman | Nov 18, 2009

With all the Liberal entitlement programs passed by the Democrats has made the US a Nanny State!! Barney Franks is the #1 person to thank for this as well as the downfall of the economy with is BS about Fannie and Freddie not being in trouble! Repugs raised the questions three different times during the past 10 years and Franks, Dodd and the rest of these bastards covered the problems up just to keep the lower income class voting for them! And who is the majority of lower income class, those who are Liberlal and vote Democrat.

Welcome to the United Welfare States of America!!
Freedom Wins | Nov 18, 2009

Do you have any examples? Aside from citing a KGB AGENT as your source.

Don’t you realize these sort of statements have no basis in fact and only solidify how extreme the Republican party has become.

No, but I’d like to see proof if you’re going to try to make that argument. Get a grip on things for a moment: just because someone you don’t like is in office doesn’t mean the U.S. is going to be turned into a welfare state.

Is Liguria a good place to go on a summer holiday?
Is there nice beaches in the area?
Also, is Genova a nice place to visit too?

Is there any other locations that you recommend near these destinations that are worth a visit?
We are looking for: Beaches, sea, history, architecture etc.

Thank you!

Liguria is very nice, especially places like Alassio, Portofino, Rapallo…etc. Also obvious places like Cinque Terre.

BUT!!!!

The beaches are quite small and it’s very expensive to spend a day on the beach. In most places you have to ‘rent’ a parasol and deckchair (about 15 Euro per day). The free beach space is very limited in each town. I find it a very claustrophobic place to spend a holiday. Many people from Milan, Turin and other cities have second houses in Liguria and go there at weekends from May onwards making parking a nightmare and the beaches packed.

Genova is a big port city. The historical centre is worth a visit, but I wouldn’t go there looking for a beach.

Depends on the area… Cinque Terre are beautiful. They are: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore. Portofino is beautiful, too.

I don’t like Genova. I suggest only its aquarium. It isn’t a great place for beaches and sea.

I prefer Tuscany or Riviera Romagnola (Emilia-Romagna).
In Tuscany, you could choose a place near the see and near some great cities. So you can stay to the seaside and have some daily trip (going by train) in Pisa, Siena ect.
However, as for Romagna, you could go in Rimini, Milano Marittima…

For holidays.. from Bordighera (west) to Lerici (east) almost all little cities on coast are holiday’s places. Into Genova city there is the port for a long part so for beaches is not the best (also for Savona and LaSpezia i think) but out of industrial zones you can find nice places. It would be nice to visit also SanRemo (flowers city), Bordighera, Alassio.. and other
I wish to have helped you enough.

honestly, the Liguria region is not very good if you are looking to go to the beach only because it is quite rocky in most spots. a good area in northern italy to go to the beaches would be to go to Tuscany (along the coast obvioulsy) or visit the Emilia Romagna region near Ravenna and Rimini, there is plenty of architecture, history, and beaches….
maybe consider visiting central italy and going to the Abruzzo region, its rich in all of the aspects ur looking for.
